Over the past twenty years, Camden International Friendship Association (CIFA) has organised many life changing experiences for the youth and adults of Camden municipality. The highlight of these activities is the annual exchange of Camden and Kashiwa student groups led by local state high school teachers.  Other activities have included soccer team exchanges, homestay for university students whilst studying English for 3 weeks at the local university, adult group tours to Japan during Cherry Blossom time and teacher exchanges. 

During the homestay visits in Camden the Japanese students are involved in a two day camp, primary and high school visits, a tour of Camden with a visit to the Mayor, a visit to the Blue Mountains, a visit to Belgenny Farm, a Bush Dance and the various activities arranged by the host families.

'While in Japan the students form the Camden high schools are home stayed with families in the Kashiwa area. During the week there they visit primary and secondary schools, Kashiwa Council to meet the Mayor, Tokyo Disneyland, and an historical village. Their homestay families usually take them into Tokyo city.

The trip ends with 4 days in the Kyoto area where they visit castles, shrines and temples, the city of Nara, the island of Miyajima and the city of Hiroshima.
